A photo of Son Heung-min and Pape Sarr has been posted on the official Tottenham Hotspur channel.
Tottenham posted a photo of Son and Saar on the club’s official social media on July 15 (KST) with a finger heart emoji. Fans commented that it was a “Sonny and Little Sonny combination” and enjoyed the chemistry between the two players.
Sarr is a 20-year-old Senegalese midfielder who made his professional debut for French Ligue 1 side Metz in 2020. In the 2020-21 season, despite being only 18 years old, he played 26 Ligue 1 games and showed promise.
Tottenham were interested in him. He agreed to a transfer in the summer of 2021, but returned to Metz on loan for the 2021-22 season. Despite the fact that his departure was already confirmed, Sarr’s profile has only increased. He played 33 games for the Ligue 1 side, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
He then joined Tottenham on a permanent basis, making 11 Premier League (PL) appearances last season, and has been a consistent option for Pochettino since the start of this campaign. After coming on as a substitute in the league opener against Brentford, he started the next three games in a row.
Most notably, he scored a stunning goal in the second leg against Manchester United. Tottenham went on to beat United 2-0 in the first leg, and in the third leg he assisted James Maddison’s goal in the 17th minute. With one goal and one assist, Spurs have now won three in a row.
His stellar performances have led to speculation about a possible new contract. Late last month, the UK’s 90min reported that “Tottenham are preparing a new contract for Sarr. Spurs are keeping a close eye on his progress. They want him to sign a new contract to reflect his development into a key player under Postecoglou.”
In the meantime, his chemistry with Son Heung-min has been the talk of the town. Sarri has shown his appreciation for Son since he joined Spurs, saying in a past interview, “He’s a really nice guy. We’ve been getting along well since the first day we met. We have a good friendship. He helps me a lot, gives me advice on and off the pitch. I really appreciate that. He is one of my favorite people in the team.” 바카라사이트
Their friendship has been steady. And after Sarr’s goal against United, Son said, “Sarr is a little Son Heung-min. He reminds me of when I first joined Tottenham. And he always brings good energy. He’s always smiling, he’s always positive. I’m always happy to be around him. He scored his first goal in the league today, and he deserves it.”
The friendship has also been evident in recent days on Sarr’s social media accounts, where he posted a photo of himself on a video call with Son on September 6, the start of the A-League break. Son had been called up to the South Korean national team, while Sarr had been called up to the Senegalese national team.
