Ulsan Hyundai maintained its lead at the top of the professional soccer K League 1 with a 5-1 win over Jeju United, led by a brilliant performance from Uhm Won-sang, who scored a goal and added an assist and a penalty kick.

With the score at 1-0, Ulsan pushed Jeju hard from the start of the second half. In the seventh minute of the second half, Ataru converted a sharp cross from Uhm Won-sang with a diving header, and just a minute later, in the eighth minute, Uhm Won-sang scored an unbelievable goal. Uhm Won-sang received the ball just outside the Ulsan penalty area and raced toward the opposing goal. She dribbled past Jeju’s Lim Chae-min and drove into the Jeju box, where she saw goalkeeper Kim Dong-joon hesitate to narrow the angle of her shot before slotting it into the back of the net. It was a ‘wonder goal’ in front of national team coach Jürgen Klinsmann.
Ulsan’s In-Jae Gyu, who was left out of the A-Match roster in June, added a second goal in the 25th minute with a stunning volley before Bako netted his second goal of the game just before the break. Jeju could only muster a single goal from Jonatan in the 33rd minute. Lee In-gyu scored his 10th goal of the season, giving him double-digit goals in three consecutive seasons, following 2021 (22) and 2022 (17).
The win was Ulsan’s second straight, following a 3-1 victory over Suwon FC in Round 17. With 44 points, Ulsan opened up a 14-point gap on second-place Pohang (30).
