South Korean coach Hwang Sun-hong has included Lee Kang-in, who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain, in his final roster for the Hangzhou Asian Games 메이저사이트.
As the Asian Games are not organized by FIFA, players must seek permission from their clubs, and Hwang said he is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain.
Winning a gold medal at the Asian Games will exempt him from military service, but he’s old enough to wait until the next tournament, so it’s a matter of convincing Paris Saint-Germain.
For now, Hwang is optimistic, saying that Lee Kang-in’s will to compete is strong.
“Lee Kang-in’s will to participate in the Asian Games is very strong. The team also has high expectations for him, so I am very positive.”
In addition to Lee Kang-in, the highly competitive second-string attack included overseas players Hong Hyun-seok and Jung Woo-young, as well as Uhm Won-sang, Song Min-kyu, and Ko Young-joon. Wildcards over the age of 24 included Seol Young-woo, Baek Seung-ho, and Park Jin-seop.
Initially, the team considered selecting a ‘striker’ as a wild card, but it was difficult to convince the clubs of overseas players who had already completed their military service, and the selection of Korea’s In Ju-gyu was also canceled.
“All the strikers were contacted, but it was difficult because overseas teams don’t actually have a mandatory rule that allows them to be withdrawn if the team doesn’t give permission…”
The fateful draw of lots will be held in Hangzhou on the 27th, and Hwang Sun-hong, who is aiming for a third consecutive gold medal, plans to hold a domestic-oriented training camp in late July or early August.
